Danish single seater talent Victor Nielsen joins NXT Gen Cup

Danish single seater talent Victor Nielsen is the latest addition to the inaugural season of NXT Gen Cup, the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup.

"It's a fantastic feeling to commit to the ground-breaking first-ever NXT Gen Cup season as the start of a new and important chapter in my motorsport career," said Victor Nielsen.

The 16-year-old started his career in karting and made his single seater debut last year, finishing fifth overall in Formula 4 Denmark.

Victor Nielsen got his first taste of NXT Gen Cup during the official pre-season test at Gelleråsen Arena earlier this month, setting the fifth fastest time overall despite limited experience of front-wheel driven race cars.

"We had some absolutely amazing days in Sweden with NXT Gen Cup with plenty of trouble-free driving so that I could wrap my head around driving a FWD car really fast," said Victor Nielsen.

"I developed a lot as a driver during the test and progressed from being almost two seconds off the pace at first, to be among the top five fastest drivers. I'm really looking forward to start the season and hopefully be able to challenge for solid points out of the gates."

The 2023 NXT Gen Cup season kicks off at Falkenberg on July 8-9, the fastest circuit in Sweden, with a competitive field of 18 all-electric LRT NXT1 race cars.

NXT Gen Cup will run alongside the all-electric STCC in Sweden and DTM/ADAC Racing Weekend in Germany to crown the official Swedish Junior champion in cooperation with the Swedish Motorsport Federation (SBF). Learn more here!
