NXT Gen Cup heads to ADAC finale at Hockenheim for first international showing

NXT Gen Cup - the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup - heads to the ADAC GT Masters finale at Hockenheim this weekend for its first international showing.

"We are delighted to be in Germany to showcase NXT Gen Cup to an international audience as part of our future expansion plan, we are confident to expand to markets beyond Sweden after 2023," said Fredrik Lestrup, co-founder NXT Gen Cup.

Demonstration runs with the all-electric LRT NXT1 race car will be performed on track on Saturday and Sunday, alongside a paddock exhibition.

"This provides us with an excellent opportunity to meet both international junior drivers as well as promotors from all over Europe," said Fredrik Lestrup, co-founder NXT Gen Cup.

"We wish to thank ADAC for providing us with this opportunity and we have an open and productive dialogue with them moving forward."

NXT Gen Cup will start in 2023 and run alongside the all-electric STCC.

The LRT NXT1 race car is based on the electric MINI Cooper SE road car that has been purpose-built for racing by Lestrup Racing Team, the founders of NXT Gen Cup.
