Bennet Ehrl signs for full NXT Gen Cup season

The one-off race weekend at Sachsenring last year gave him a taste for more electric racing. Bennet Ehrl is now set to return to the NXT Gen Cup full-time.

The German driver has spent the last two seasons in endurance racing, with a class podium finish to his name in the Nürburgring Langstrecken-Serie.

However, his one-off appearance in the 2024 NXT Gen Cup at the demanding Sachsenring left a strong impression and provided him with valuable experience.

“It was incredibly fun and highly competitive. Joining mid-season was a great opportunity to get my first taste of NXT Gen Cup’s sprint race format. The tight wheel-to-wheel racing was intense, and I learned a lot from it,” said Bennet Ehrl.

With an early signing, Ehrl now has the chance to fully prepare and make his mark in this year’s championship.

“My goal for the upcoming season is to fight at the front of the pack while continuing to build on my experience,” Ehrl continues.

NXT Gen Cup founder Fredrik Lestrup was impressed by Ehrl’s debut last season:

“Bennet was really thrown in at the deep end when he made his debut at a very demanding racetrack. Despite that, he got up to speed quickly, which was impressive to see. Now that he has a full season ahead, we’re excited to see what he can achieve with proper preparation,” said Lestrup.

The NXT Gen Cup races alongside DTM—kicking off at Oschersleben, 25–27 April. All races will be broadcast LIVE on YouTube.
