Experienced Alexzander Kristiansson joins NXT Gen Cup

Former Ginetta GT5 Challenge junior champion Alexzander Kristiansson is going to join the inaugural NXT Gen Cup season in 2023 - the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup.

"I'm feeling really pumped to join the NXT Gen Cup which will be my first all-electric racing experience," said Alexzander Kristiansson.

The 22-year-old comes from a background of racing SSK and most recently Ginetta in Sweden, clinching both the junior and vice-champion titles in 2020.

"This will no doubt be completely different to everything I have raced so far, but it's a challenge that I'm definitely looking forward to and one that I feel ready for," said Alexzander Kristiansson.

"I think we are going to get a really competitive grid next year and to be part of the world's first all-electric junior touring car cup feels like a no-brainer in terms of creating the best possible conditions for my future career."

Alexzander Kristiansson will get a first taste of the LRT NXT1 race car later this year ahead of the 2023 season start.

NXT Gen Cup will start in 2023 and run alongside the all-electric STCC, featuring a big grid of LRT NXT1 race cars which are based on the electric MINI Cooper SE road car - more info here.
