Young Czech racer Filip Bartos joins NXT Gen Cup

Czech racer Filip Bartoš becomes the second so far confirmed international driver for the inaugural NXT Gen Cup season in 2023.

"From my first metres in karting, I knew I wanted to be a racer and compete in a real racing car has become the dream of my life. NXT Gen Cup is its fulfillment," said Filip Bartoš.

The 14-year-old made his karting debut in 2019 and most recently raced in the Czech ROK GP Cup, finishing close to the top ten of 35 drivers - despite missing two races due to an injury.

"I'm very excited to take the step up to NXT Gen Cup from karting and to be part of this exceptional and groundbreaking series from the beginning," said Filip Bartoš.

"This will be a vital part for my future career and a unique opportunity which I intent to make the most out of."

NXT Gen Cup will start in 2023 and run alongside the all-electric STCC, featuring a big grid of LRT NXT1 race cars which are based on the electric MINI Cooper SE road car - more info here.
