NXT Gen Cup announces free LIVE broadcast on YouTube and new commentary team
The inaugural season of the 100% electric NXT Gen Cup will be broadcast live and free on YouTube with 19-year-old Daan Pepels at the helm of the commentary team alongside a wide array of guest commentators, experts and former racing drivers.
"We are proud to announce a robust broadcast package for our first-ever NXT Gen Cup season and also to welcome a junior talent in the form of Daan Pepels in the commentary team," said Fredrik Lestrup, co-founder of NXT Gen Cup.
"The key ingredients to our broadcast package are easy access, live, free to watch and in depth coverage. I'm confident that we have found a solid package to provide our fans, partners and potential new racing talents the best possible way to watch the ground-breaking first NXT Gen Cup season all over the world."
Dutch commentating ace Daan Pepels will be the face and voice of NXT Gen Cup in the broadcasts and will, just as the NXT Gen Cup driver, make his real racing debut this year after more than 150 broadcasts of sim racing.
"I'm psyched to make my debut commentating real racing with a ground-breaking series like NXT Gen Cup. The team behind the series is amazing group of people that I look forward to work closely with this year," said Daan Pepels.
"We've got an amazing first season ahead where we will provide our viewers with amazing racing and in depth behind the scenes action, I can't wait for the season to start!"
Other than the live coverage on YouTube for testing, qualifying and the races, the inaugural season will also feature NXT Gen Cup Paddock Walk.
Here, Daan Pepels will tour the pit lane between sessions to catch all behind the scenes action, gossip, emotions, and news – a feature which will be available across all NXT Gen Cup social channels before, during and after the race weekends.
The first LIVE broadcast will take place during the Falkenberg season opener on July 8-9 via the NXT Gen Cup YouTube channel.
