NXT Gen Cup exhibits at Automessen with technical partner VARTA
From 5–8 February, Automessen at NOVA Spektrum in Lillestrøm, just outside Oslo, will bring together key players in the automotive industry. Among them, the NXT Gen Cup partner VARTA will showcase its latest battery innovations.
“Our partnership with VARTA has been a key part of NXT Gen Cup’s journey, ensuring top-level performance and reliability in our fully electric race cars. We are excited to see VARTA presenting their technology at Automessen and invite visitors to learn more about the future of electric mobility,” said Fredrik Lestrup, NXT Gen Cup founder.
A highlight at VARTA’s exhibition stand will be the 100% electric, VARTA-branded NXT Gen Cup car—the very car that 2024 NXT Gen Cup champion Calvin de Groot powered to victory at Hockenheim, securing the title.
"We are incredibly proud to have been part of the NXT Gen Cup journey from the start. Having the VARTA-branded car with us at Automessen, as we showcase our new product portfolio, some specifically designed for electric vehicles, will for sure help the audience understand the importance of the 12V battery even in electric cars," said Andreas Stamborg, Country Sales Manager at Clarios.
As part of Clarios, the world’s leading battery manufacturer and the number one original equipment supplier for major automotive and commercial vehicle brands, VARTA continues to set industry standards. At Automessen, visitors will have the opportunity to discover their cutting-edge solutions, which are shaping the future of mobility both on and off the racetrack.
Do not miss this opportunity to talk batteries, innovation, and electric racing with the experts at VARTA.

About NXT Gen Cup
The NXT Gen Cup is the world’s first 100% electric junior touring car cup where young female and male drivers race the LRT NXT1, a fully electric race car based on the MINI Cooper SE road car - engineered and built by Lestrup Racing Team. The series races together with DTM and is organised through an “arrive and drive” concept, enabling the junior drivers to focus on driving and creating the foundation for a professional racing career.
About DTM
DTM is Europe’s premier and best-known racing series and celebrated its 40th birthday in 2024. As one of the most competitive racing series, DTM features seven prestigious brands in its anniversary season. The DTM has a German core, but a strong international fan base. Races are broadcasted live in 150 territories. The series is also a leader in sustainable motorsport. For the second season, all cars are powered by a sustainable fuel made of 50% renewable components. Not only the cars racing in DTM are in the centre of sustainable projects. For the events itself the ADAC as promoter of the DTM offers innovations like an initiative to reduce plastic waste and a digital carpool solution, which has been recognised and awarded by the FIA.
