NXT Gen Cup joins karting event with test drive as prize

NXT Gen Cup, the world's first fully electric junior touring car cup, will join the official Swedish karting championship in Kalmar, Sweden, on August 5-6 where winners of the junior classes will be given a test drive as prize.

"NXT Gen Cup offers junior racing talents a perfect step from karting where we together with the STCC have created an exciting and sustainable career ladder," said Fredrik Lestrup, co-founder of NXT Gen Cup.

The winners of the OK class will get to drive the LRT NXT1, the world's first fully electric junior touring car racer, during a test day later this year.

The winners of the OK Junior and 125 Junior classes, aged 12-15, will get to join NXT Gen Cup and STCC behind the scenes during a race weekend in 2023.

"The karting weekend in Kalmar offer us a perfect chance to provide young talents with insight on what opportunities the future can hold in terms of a professional racing career through NXT Gen Cup and the STCC," said Fredrik Lestrup.

"We offer junior drivers a unique arrive and drive setup in NXT Gen Cup, including a robust education programme where the young talents will get to learn key tools in terms of media and sponsor relations, economics, race engineering and a lot more."
