NXT Gen Cup moves into new Gothenburg facilities as production nears final stages

NXT Gen Cup has moved its headquarters from Stockholm to Gothenburg, Sweden, as production of the 20 all-electric LRT NXT1 race cars near the final stages ahead of the inaugural season.

The new facilities span over 1300 square metres to include production, offices, and spare parts.

"We are expanding quicker than planned and it's a welcome challenge where the new facility in Gothenburg is a vital part," said Fredrik Lestrup, co-founder of NXT Gen Cup.

"We have expanded our staff as well and recruited several key talents in order to meet our increased production demands. It's hard but rewarding work for everyone involved as we push the boundaries of sustainable and electric junior racing forward."

A total of 20 LRT NXT1 race cars are currently in various stages of production and functionality testing.

The NXT Gen Cup team recently completed a first roll out session of the first completed production cars at Mantorp Park where the cars were benchmarked against the development prototype by official test driver Emil Sällberg.

"It's a great feeling to complete the first roll out with the first completed production cars after spending countless hours behind the wheel of the development car," said Emil Sällberg.

"The test day at Mantorp Park went according to plan and I can't wait to see our NXT Gen Cup drivers getting behind the wheel of their cars later this summer."

The LRT NXT1 features a 30kWh battery with an electric, liquid cooled motor which produces 230hp. The front-wheel drive cars can run 20-minute races at full pace thanks to comprehensive development by NXT Gen Cup in a wide array of conditions.
