14-year-old Dutch electric karting talent Greaham Hofmans joins NXT Gen Cup
Dutch karting talent Greaham Hofmans is the youngest driver to enter the inaugural NXT Gen Cup season, the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup, at the age of just 14.
"I'm so excited to join NXT Gen Cup and it will be a big step for me, but a step that I am definitely ready for," said Hofmans.
The Dutchman made his karting debut in 2021 and raced both electric karts and Junior Driving Experience with the Dutch NXT Racing.
Greaham drives almost every week at Circuit Zandvoort with RaceSensation. On top of that, Greaham is the youngest protege from the Dutch racing team Bas Koeten Racing which will guide the Dutchman in his first steps of competition in cars with a Swedish license.
"I started driving an old riding lawnmower at our farm when I was four and later a dirt bike, before moving on to karting when I was eleven. So I really love driving and can't wait to get going in NXT Gen Cup," said Hofmans.
"The fact that NXT Gen Cup is 100% electric really excites me as it's clearly the direction motorsport is taking for the future. I'm also excited to learn Swedish circuits and meet new opponents, the field looks really strong. My main goal for the first season in NXT Gen Cup is to learn a lot and gather experience for my future career."
The 2023 NXT Gen Cup season kicks off at Falkenberg on July 8-9, the fastest circuit in Sweden, with a competitive field of 18 all-electric LRT NXT1 race cars.
NXT Gen Cup will run alongside the all-electric STCC in Sweden to crown the official Swedish Junior champion in cooperation with the Swedish Motorsport Federation (SBF). Learn more here!
