Siri Hökfelt returns to NXT Gen Cup for third consecutive season
As the 2025 NXT Gen Cup grid continues to attract top talent, the latest addition is Swedish speedster Siri Hökfelt. Now entering her third season in the championship, Siri has established herself as one of the series' veterans despite her young age.
Siri Hökfelt began her racing career in Sweden, competing in karting and single-seater categories such as the Renault Junior Cup Sweden and Aquila Formula 1000. She made her NXT Gen Cup debut in 2023, finishing 15th overall, and improved her standing to 9th overall in 2024, consistently achieving top-10 results throughout the season.
“I love that the focus in NXT Gen Cup is so heavily on driver development. I feel like I improve with every race – it’s the perfect school,” said Siri Hökfelt.
Looking ahead to 2025, Hökfelt is setting even higher targets.
“During the off-season, I've trained intensively both physically and mentally and spent plenty of time in the simulator. I feel fully prepared for the new season. My goal for 2025 is, of course, to learn as much as possible while also aiming for podium finishes,“ Hökfelt continued.
For the 18-year-old from Ängelholm in southern Sweden, the announcement of her participation in NXT Gen Cup comes just days after she was confirmed for the “Race Apprentice 2025” program. Initiated by Porsche Sweden and Extreme E champion Mikaela Åhlin-Kottulinsky, the program is a prestigious development initiative for young female drivers aiming to achieve international racing careers. In short, 2025 promises to be a pivotal year for Hökfelt.
“We are very happy that Siri has decided to return to NXT Gen Cup for a third season after two years marked by strong performances and significant development. She is an extremely hardworking driver who sets high standards for herself, and we’re confident that she will achieve even greater results this year,” said Fredrik Lestrup, founder of NXT Gen Cup.
NXT Gen Cup, the world’s first electric junior touring car cup, will once again race alongside DTM—Europe’s premier and best-known racing series—over four race weekends from April to August.
