14-year-old Vera Jurland to become youngest 2025 NXT Gen Cup driver
The 2025 NXT Gen Cup season is set to welcome an exciting new talent: 14-year-old Vera Jurland, who will tie the record as the youngest driver ever to compete in the fully electric touring car series.
The Swedish-Danish racer is making the leap from international karting to electric touring car racing, taking on some of Germany’s most iconic circuits, including Oschersleben, Norisring, Nürburgring, and Sachsenring, as part of the prestigious DTM race weekends.
Jurland is eager to embrace the challenge of electric racing, particularly the push-to-pass system that allows for strategic overtaking and intense on-track battles. At the same time, she sees NXT Gen Cup as a platform to drive awareness of sustainability in motorsport.
“Switching to electric racing feels like a natural step for me. NXT Gen Cup offers an amazing opportunity to compete at a high level while also proving that motorsport can be both exciting and sustainable. It’s important to be part of this shift and to inspire more people to see racing from an environmental perspective,” says Vera Jurland.
Beyond her ambitions on track, Jurland is also driven to inspire more young girls to believe in themselves and pursue careers in motorsport. As a young female driver in a male-dominated sport, she hopes to motivate and encourage other girls to break barriers and chase their dreams in racing.
"Motorsport has traditionally been dominated by boys and men, but I want to show that talent and determination matter more than gender. If I can inspire even one more girl to believe she belongs in racing, that’s already a victory,” says Jurland.
Jurland also emphasizes that her racing journey would not be possible without the support of her sponsors and partners, who play a key role in making her transition to electric racing a reality.
For NXT Gen Cup, Jurland’s signing is a testament to the series' mission of fostering young talent and creating an inclusive, competitive environment.
“In many ways, Vera embodies what NXT Gen Cup is all about—giving talented drivers a platform to perform in a highly competitive setting, regardless of age. Vera tested the LRT NXT1 car last year, gaining valuable experience ahead of the season, and we are thrilled to have her on the grid for 2025. With such an ambitious racing program behind her, there’s no doubt that she will be a force to be reckoned with throughout the season,” says Fredrik Lestrup, founder of NXT Gen Cup.
NXT Gen Cup, the world’s first electric junior touring car cup, will once again race alongside DTM—Europe’s premier and best-known racing series—over four race weekends from April to August.

About DTM
DTM is Europe’s premier and best-known racing series and celebrated its 40th birthday in 2024. As one of the most competitive racing series, DTM features seven prestigious brands in its anniversary season. The DTM has a German core, but a strong international fan base. Races are broadcasted live in 150 territories. The series is also a leader in sustainable motorsport. For the second season, all cars are powered by a sustainable fuel made of 50% renewable components. Not only the cars racing in DTM are in the centre of sustainable projects. For the events itself the ADAC as promoter of the DTM offers innovations like an initiative to reduce plastic waste and a digital carpool solution, which has been recognised and awarded by the FIA.
