16-year-old Siri Hökfelt joins first-ever NXT Gen Cup season

The 16-year-old talent Siri Hökfelt is going to join the inaugural NXT Gen Cup season, the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup, becoming the second female driver to enter the cup so far.

"I'm really excited to join NXT Gen Cup and be able to race all-new electric race cars which I have no doubt will be thrilling to race," said Siri Hökfelt.

The Swede comes from a background of karting and made her racing debut in 2020, taking part in both the Renault Junior Cup Sweden and Aquila Formula 1000.

"I have some experience of racing front-wheel drive cars, but obviously not electric ones. I am confident that I can adapt and I can't wait to get behind the wheel of my LRT NX1 racer," said Siri Hökfelt.

"The grid is looking really strong for the first NXT Gen Cup season and there are plenty of drivers with a lot more experience than me. I look forward to learning and improving together with them in my debut season. The primary goal is to develop my skills as a driver and working together with the very professional NXT Gen Cup organisation will give me so much more than ‘just driving’. I’m super motivated to do my best in all situations.”

Siri Hökfelt joins Louise Larsson as the first two female drivers of NXT Gen Cup which kicks off at Falkenberg on July 8-9.

NXT Gen Cup will run alongside the all-electric STCC in Sweden to crown the official Swedish Junior champion in cooperation with the Swedish Motorsport Federation (SBF). Learn more here!
