Bente Boer makes international debut in NXT Gen Cup at legendary Nürburgring

Dutch racing talent Bente Boer is going to make her international racing debut in the 100% electric NXT Gen Cup at the legendary Nürburgring this weekend.

"I'm absolutely thrilled to join NXT Gen Cup and to make my international racing debut with such an innovative and electric championship," said Bente Boer.

"Alongside my racing, I want to become a teacher and I see technology changing quickly in the classroom, this is a part of why I want to race in NXT Gen Cup. I also want to show that we, women, don't need a special class to be faster than the boys, that we can win and perform with the same material as them."

The 21-year-old has raced karts for six years and in the Dutch Max5 Cup since 2022, finishing 13th overall last year and is currently placed ninth in the 2023 season.

"NXT Gen Cup will obviously be completely new for me with an electric, front-wheel driven touring car. But it's a switch that I'm really excited for and a key step for my future racing career," said Bente Boer.

"I have realistic ambitions for this weekend, especially as I've never raced at the Nürburgring before. But I'm preparing myself best possible and I've received awesome help from the NXT Gen Cup organisation in this. The key thing about this racing weekend for me will be to learn as much as possible."

NXT Gen Cup races together with the iconic DTM at the Nürburgring this weekend, with practice, qualifying and the two races being broadcast LIVE on the NXT Gen Cup YouTube channel.

The field of 18 junior talents races the 100% electric LRT NXT1 race car, which is based on the all-electric MINI Cooper SE road car, featuring 230hp and a FIA certified 30kWh battery.
