Katie Turner makes her racing debut in NXT Gen Cup at Falkenberg
Katie Turner is going to make her racing debut in the all-electric NXT Gen Cup season opener at Falkenberg this weekend.
"This is obviously a massive step for me as I will make my racing debut in a highly competitive series. I'm nervous, excited but confident," said Katie Turner.
The 19-year-old is currently taking part in Formula Woman and has completed a vast number of track days on circuits in the UK.
The British driver is currently on her way to Gelleråsen Arena in Sweden to complete her racing license.
"There will be a lot to learn, especially as I've never raced on Swedish circuits before and to join an electric series make this even more exciting. But I'm a fast learner and will take this step by step, see where I am in the first race at Falkenberg and work my way forward," said Katie Turner.
Katie Turner becomes the 17th confirmed driver for the historic first NXT Gen Cup season, the world's first 100% electric junior touring car cup. The 18th and final driver will be revealed shortly.
NXT Gen Cup will run alongside the all-electric STCC in Sweden and DTM/ADAC Racing Weekend in Germany to crown the official Swedish Junior champion in cooperation with the Swedish Motorsport Federation (SBF) - learn more.
