NXT Gen Cup launches educational program with Swedbank

NXT Gen Cup will in cooperation with Swedbank, a bank for the purpose of empower the many people and businesses to create a better future, start an educational program for its drivers ahead of the inaugural season in 2023.

"We are delighted to announce this key cooperation with Swedbank ahead of our inaugural season which will provide our young racing talents with the necessary tools for a successful and viable racing career," said Fredrik Lestrup, co-founder of NXT Gen Cup.

"NXT Gen Cup isn't just about racing, but also learning the wide set of skills and tools that are needed to really succeed in the tough motorsport world."

The drivers will visit the Swedbank headquarters in Stockholm in December to take part in a comprehensive economics program on how to start a business, set up a budget and be offered advisory services.

"This is a thoroughly interesting and inspiring program that we are proud to be part of with NXT Gen Cup," said Helena Skarin, Head of Societal engagement, Swedbank Swedish Banking.

"All forms of sport require sound financial tools and motorsport is no exception. In our sponsorship, we mainly focus on collaborations with organizations that work with children and young people, and this is a new level which we look forward to develop together with NXT Gen Cup."

The economics is the first step in the multifaceted educational program for the drivers of NXT Gen Cup and the next step will be revealed soon.

NXT Gen Cup is the world's first fully electric junior touring car cup which will start in 2023 and run alongside the all-electric STCC, featuring a big grid of LRT NXT1 race cars which are based on the electric MINI Cooper SE road car - more info here.
